About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Kid Zone Attendant for their Eastside YMCA location. This role involves providing a safe, secure, and positive environment for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old while their parents utilize onsite YMCA facilities. The attendant will offer drop-in care, ensure child safety through constant supervision, maintain the cleanliness of the Kid Zone area, and engage children in fun activities. This position requires a love for children, patience, and the ability to remain calm under stress.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic skills working with children
Current certification in CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders)
Current certification in First Aid (for the community and workplace)
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a physical
Love for children

Child development knowledge

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, secure, and positive environment for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old.
Ensure the safety of all children through proper supervision ('see, hear, direct, and assess').
Keep the kid zone area clean and in order.
Follow YMCA emergency procedures.
Have fun with the children while they are in your care.
