About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Kid Zone Attendant for our Eastside YMCA location. This role involves providing a safe, secure, and positive environment for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old while their parents use the YMCA facilities. The attendant will offer drop-in care, ensure proper supervision, maintain a clean and orderly Kid Zone area, and engage children in fun activities. This position requires attentiveness to YMCA emergency procedures and a focus on having fun with the children.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic skills working with children
Current certification in CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders) and First Aid (for the community and workplace)
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a physical
Love for children
People person who enjoys interacting with children
Patient and able to remain calm when stressed
Enjoys reading and singing with children

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, secure, and positive environment for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old.
Offer drop-in care for children of YMCA family members while they work out or attend a class.
Ensure proper supervision of all children.
Keep the Kid Zone area clean and in order.
Follow YMCA emergency procedures.
Engage children in fun activities while in care.
