About The Position

Phil Long KIA is hiring a Kia Certified Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair most vehicle systems with minimal supervision, delivering safe, accurate results that meet dealership and factory standards. This role involves efficiently completing work from repair orders, troubleshooting malfunctions, coordinating with the Parts department, tagging and saving warranty components, documenting all work and recommendations, performing road tests as needed, supporting apprentice technicians, and staying current on technical bulletins and manufacturer training. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

2–4 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
Valid driver license
Manufacturer training
Strong reading/writing, math, and reasoning skills for technical procedures and repair documentation
Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, hazardous waste, etc.)

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair most vehicle systems with minimal supervision.
Deliver safe, accurate results that meet dealership and factory standards.
Complete work from repair orders efficiently.
Troubleshoot malfunctions.

Review the morning lineup and check notes from advisors.
Set up the bay for a clean, organized workflow.
Move between diagnostic time, focused repair time, and quick touchpoints with Parts.
Verify vehicle condition.
Keep the RO story clear and complete.
Communicate timing changes early.
Perform a final quality and cleanliness check before the next ticket.
Scan new technical bulletins.
Make time for manufacturer training.
