About The Position

Phil Long KIA is hiring a Kia Certified Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair most vehicle systems with minimal supervision, delivering safe, accurate results that meet dealership and factory standards. Key responsibilities include completing work from repair orders efficiently, troubleshooting malfunctions, coordinating with Parts, tagging/saving warranty components, documenting all work and recommendations, road testing as needed, supporting apprentice technicians, and staying current on technical bulletins and manufacturer training. Your day starts by reviewing the morning lineup, checking notes from advisors, and setting up your bay for a clean, organized workflow. You’ll move between diagnostic time, focused repair time, and quick touchpoints with Parts to keep jobs flowing. Throughout the day, you’ll verify vehicle condition, keep the RO story clear and complete, and communicate timing changes early so expectations stay on track. When needed, you’ll take a short road test (or coordinate one), then wrap up with a final quality and cleanliness check before the next ticket. Between vehicles, you’ll scan new technical bulletins and make time for manufacturer training to stay sharp.
