About The Position

The Production Keying Specialist I will work under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. Will work as part of a team having responsibility for the set up and operation of machines to cut and copy keys to meet business expectations and assemble locks per sales order requirements.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED is required.
1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
Excellent hand/eye coordination with the ability to handle small parts.
Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Retail experience working in a hardware or keying environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.
Disassemble locks and replace tumblers, springs, and other parts.
Lock and cylinder preparation, assemble and disassemble locks.
Master keying function, pinning the key cylinder.
Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labelling of product.
Maintain accurate records of company locks and keys.
Read sales orders to understand customer requirements for keys and locks.
Maintain, test and adjust equipment as necessary.
Observe and adhere to safety rules and practices.
Test completed keys to verify conformance to specifications and examine completed work pieces for defects.
Other relevant tasks as assigned by Manager / Supervisor.
