About The Position

The Keyholder is responsible for providing excellent customer and donor care while maintaining a safe and clean sales floor. This role coordinates with the store manager and assistant manager in opening and closing the store as scheduled, while continuing to carry out primary duties as assigned. The Keyholder must demonstrate professionalism, a friendly and cooperative attitude, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Punctuality and dependable attendance are essential, along with open availability, including nights and weekends. Safety and adherence to policies and procedures are paramount.

Requirements

  • Ability to respond to telephones, written correspondence, and other auditory and visual stimulation.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations.
  • Frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, and walk.
  • Frequently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally climb stairs or inclined surfaces.
  • Occasionally work outside during night hours and/or inclement weather.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and performance in accordance with the philosophy of compassion, caring and respect for the welfare and dignity of others, including clients of agency, as well as staff and volunteers.
  • Display a non-judgmental acceptance of all clients/volunteers/staff/co-workers.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 months customer service and/or cashier experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service and donor care.
  • Maintain store operations when manager and assistant manager are off duty.
  • Operate the cash register, point of sale system, answer the telephone, process client gift certificates, process refunds, get change for registers, open and close register.
  • Stock shelves and racks with processed merchandise.
  • Keep the store neat and clean.
  • Unload and sort materials in the donation area.
  • Assist with loading and unloading merchandise and equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and present a friendly, cooperative attitude towards customers and co-workers.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner; maintain good housekeeping standards, have all aisles and pathways to fire extinguishers, and exits clear from clutter.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by the Manager.
