About The Position

MAPAL Inc. is seeking a Key Accounts Sales Application Engineer for its Port Huron, MI location. This role is responsible for managing projects, driving sales growth, developing new applications for MAPAL products, providing technical support, and serving as a liaison between customers and internal teams. The position involves training customers on product utilization and resolving tooling issues on the shop floor to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Equivalent education or training to a 2-4 year degree in a technical discipline, including military or development/pipeline programs.
  • 5-7 years of experience in cutting tooling is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to make independent decisions confidently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present, persuade, and sell value.
  • Consultative, customer-focused, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Able to think creatively and develop ‘outside-the-box’ solutions for client needs and challenges.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to meet with customers and stakeholders in designated sales regions.
  • Business-minded, with a strong ability to plan and develop strategies while adapting quickly to change in dynamic environments.
  • Customer-centric, with proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, product presentations, and delivering training to both employees and customers.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and industry developments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Actively manage projects, updating the management team on progress, and perform risk management to mitigate potential issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive growth within the assigned region, achieving or exceeding annual budget targets.
  • Partner with customers to identify and generate new applications for the MAPAL product line, presenting and demonstrating value-added solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Work closely with MAPAL support teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer challenges, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the customer, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure prompt resolution of delivery, performance, and design-related queries, fostering confidence for future sales.
  • Provide instruction and training to customers on the utilization and application of MAPAL tooling to ensure optimal performance.
  • Address tooling issues on the customer’s shop floor, report findings, and recommend changes as needed to improve outcomes and enhance customer satisfaction.
