About The Position

This role involves taking ownership of customer relationships within the assigned sector, developing and maintaining the assigned territory, sub-vertical, and/or customer relationships. The goal is to maximize sales, gross profit, and return on investment/assets by utilizing TTI’s products and services. The position requires developing a regional or corporate strategy in collaboration with sales branches to establish TTI as the preferred supplier. TTI, Inc., headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, is a leading authorized distributor of electronic components and a Berkshire Hathaway company with a global presence. The Key Accounts Managers Team is responsible for developing and executing business strategies for assigned sector Tier 1 accounts, sub-verticals, or territories, focusing on growth opportunities and expansion. Success is measured by increased sales and meeting sales objectives. This role also involves coordinating customer or market segment reviews, creating formal sales and marketing presentations, and assisting with the annual budgeting process. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers, monitoring competitor activity, and seeking new opportunities for design, product development, or supply chain solutions are crucial. Collaboration with internal cross-functional teams to provide tailored solutions, reviewing financial results, and staying informed on industry trends are also key responsibilities. The role requires supporting TTI's field operations, upholding ethical business standards, and fostering customer goodwill through visits and tours. Proactively answering customer inquiries, resolving concerns, and identifying trends or potential issues within assigned accounts are essential for proactive customer service. Maintaining market awareness through industry periodicals, networking, training, and trade shows ensures the manager adds value and makes informed decisions. Participation in the TTI Total Quality Program and performing other related duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Degree from an accredited four-year College or University in a related field and at least three to five years of experience in electronics distribution or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Possess or gain a thorough knowledge of company product lines, sales, purchasing, operations, and systems.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Respond tactfully and effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to write and present information to internal and external audiences.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications at a basic level preferred.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must possess valid state driver’s license, safe driving record and be insurable by the Companies’ liability carrier.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • To perform the position, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business strategies for assigned sector Tier 1 accounts, sub-verticals, or territories by identifying and focusing on account growth opportunities and potential avenues for expansion.
  • Develop and coordinate customer or market segment reviews by interfacing with the customer and TTI management to arrange agenda/itinerary content, creating a productive and well-prepared information exchange.
  • Create formal sales and marketing presentations by utilizing technical resources and corporate information to deliver a consistent and compelling company message.
  • Assist the Vice President of Aerospace and Defense and/or the Global Account Manager with the annual budgeting process by giving input and projections on cost and expenses forecasted for the upcoming fiscal year.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in assigned accounts or territories to gain insight into competitive intelligence and position the company as the preferred supplier.
  • Monitors competitor activity in each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated effectively.
  • Seek new opportunities, with customers within assigned territory or sub-vertical that focus on new design, new product development or supply chain solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (data management, operations, engineering, marketing, product management – as applicable) to provide tailored solutions to customers.
  • Reviews financial results (sales and inventory liability) and recommends adjustments to achieve growth and profit objectives.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, defense programs, and emerging technologies impacting sector electronics.
  • Support TTI dedicated field operations by having team involvement and coordination producing quality work with seamless communication and highest customer service.
  • Share the vision of TTI by upholding the mission and ethical business standards in every transaction.
  • Foster customer good will/relationship development by hosting customer visits and tours to corporate facilities.
  • Responsible for proactively answering customer inquiries and resolving their concerns.
  • Identify trends and potential concerns with assigned accounts or sub-verticals by pursuing resolution with appropriate personnel resulting in quick issue resolution and proactive customer service.
  • Maintains market awareness on competitor activities, industry tends and new concepts by reading industry periodicals, networking, attending periodic update training events and trade shows which will ensure that the manager is adding value and is current on industry knowledge to aid in making informed decisions.
  • Participates in the TTI Total Quality Program by driving the importance of quality, ensuring the branch is following the defined processes, and identifying the areas of process improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
