About The Position

The Key Account Manager for the OHP group is responsible for promoting and managing sales of AMGUARD's products while building strong customer relationships and representing the customer’s interests within the organization. The Key Account Manager provides services to assigned accounts; and works with their team to diagnose and solve customer problems. In this role, the Key Account Manager may determine the need for new products or improvements to existing products and will evaluate market and industry trends, competitors, and sales programs that will add value to the company and our customers. This position is located in the Pacific Northwest. AMGUARD, an American Vanguard subsidiary is focused on AMGUARD Environmental Technologies is an emerging provider of non-crop and specialty technology solutions for the US Public Health, Pest Control, Ornamental & Greenhouse markets. AMGUARD discovers, develops and commercializes a diverse portfolio of proven chemistries, innovative technologies and green solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience as a key resource in driving sales through successful key account management
  • Has appropriate level of expertise in core job functions to effectively implement, lead and execute AMVAC's business and financial strategies
  • Knowledgeable in current policies, practices, trends, technology, industry related information
  • Knows the competition and is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace
  • Expertise in planning, developing and applying resources, methods, systems and procedures in the most effective manner
  • Customer focus, business acumen, resilience, integrity and trust, drive for results, passion for success
  • Excellent interpersonal-communication skills, sales-negotiation skills and able to act as industry leader
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and CRM reporting
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally on a regular basis

Responsibilities

  • Applies extensive business expertise and is respected as an industry expert by customers and key influencers in the market
  • Develops key account solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity while anticipating changes in the market based on extensive market knowledge and experience
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role including acting as a mentor to team members
  • Interacts with industry associations on significant issues often requiring coordination between organizations and AMVAC internal personnel
  • Proactively seeks and implements ways to maximize team success
  • Identifies key factors in complex situations and can draw upon competencies to pull together ideas and create actionable plans to steer a clear outcome
  • Plans how to establish and maintain major account relationships and meet sales targets within the full line of AMVAC products
  • Establishes and builds strong client relationships over time that allow for continuity and ongoing representation reinforced by sales support, programs, and communications to other relevant organizational functions/divisions
  • Communicates with executive levels in customer organizations
  • Participates with other Key Account Managers and Sales Management in development of sales strategies for national accounts; helps identify target accounts and opportunities with the framework of the AMVAC strategy
