About The Position

The Key Account Manager (KAM) serves as the primary liaison between Takeda and healthcare professionals, treatment centers, and key stakeholders within their assigned territory. Acting as an ambassador for Takeda's values, vision, and patient-focused culture, the KAM drives business results through strategic customer engagement, account planning, and execution. This highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual will be responsible for growing Takeda's Oncology business across a portfolio of innovative therapies within solid tumors and hematology. Success in this role requires a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments, creates opportunities through strong stakeholder engagement, and is energized by driving meaningful impact for patients. The successful candidate will embrace digital innovation, leverage data and AI-enabled tools to enhance decision-making and customer engagement, and consistently demonstrate the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and integrity in all business activities. The KAM is expected to demonstrate patient- and customer-centric decision-making aligned with Takeda’s Patient, Trust, Reputation, Business principles. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys building business in complex environments and is motivated by the challenge of creating opportunities that improve outcomes for patients. This position is ideally based in the Quebec City region. Territory boundaries may evolve over time based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty healthcare, or medical sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create opportunities, overcome access barriers, and drive business growth through strategic customer engagement and account management.
  • Demonstrated growth and learning mindset, including the courage to implement innovative approaches and the agility to adapt to drive success.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CRM, data analytics, and AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Salesforce, Power BI).
  • Ability to quickly adopt new digital platforms and translate analytics into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding business objectives.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders within complex healthcare environments.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel (~40%).

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology sales experience.
  • Experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, hematology, oncology, rare diseases, biologics, or other complex specialty-care environments.
  • Experience successfully launching and expanding innovative therapies within complex specialty-care markets.
  • Experience navigating reimbursement, access, and stakeholder management challenges.
  • Advanced degree in business or science considered an asset.
  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, CCPE accreditation or equivalent pharmaceutical industry training.
  • Preference to candidates based in the Quebec City region.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow Takeda's business in complex and evolving healthcare environments.

  • Develop and maintain expertise across Takeda's Oncology portfolio, clinical data, disease states, treatment landscapes, and evolving scientific evidence.
  • Effectively communicate approved clinical, scientific, and value-based information to healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitive products, treatment algorithms, reimbursement processes, and market dynamics.
  • Serve as a trusted partner by translating complex clinical information into meaningful customer discussions.
  • Develop, execute, and continuously refine strategic account plans for priority customers and institutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, administrators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and influential stakeholders to support long-term account success.
  • Identify customer needs, challenges, and opportunities to create tailored engagement strategies and drive account growth.
  • Utilize customer insights, stakeholder mapping, and business analytics to prioritize activities and maximize impact.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional input to shape and execute territory and account plans aligned to brand, national sales, and local market priorities.
  • Utilize CRM systems, analytics platforms, digital engagement channels, and AI-enabled tools to improve customer engagement, territory planning, and business performance.
  • Leverage data and insights to identify opportunities, inform strategies, and enhance decision-making.
  • Embrace innovative ways of working that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience.
  • Select and adapt the most appropriate engagement channels — face-to-face, virtual, and digital — to maximize customer relevance, reach, and impact.
  • Maintain CRM and knowledge-management systems accurately and consistently in accordance with Takeda processes.
  • Partner effectively with Medical, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Share field insights, competitive intelligence, and market trends to support business planning and execution.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with Takeda values, company policies, SOPs, industry codes, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure customer information, personal data, and digital engagement activities are managed in accordance with privacy, transparency, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and accountability in all customer interactions and business decisions.
