About The Position

The Key Account Director is responsible for Biosimilars – Oncology and I&I sales. This role is a critical component to the growth of the overall business, requiring the individual to effectively work in a dynamic business environment due to increasing consolidation and complexity in how key accounts conduct their business and manage patients. The primary function is to develop, maintain, and grow strategic long-term relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Specialty Pharmacy Providers (SPPs), Alternate Site providers, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)/Plans, and Key Stakeholders. The role involves developing and executing customer business plans to ultimately maximize sales and margin growth within assigned accounts.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of successful healthcare sales experience with proven results.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve customers’ needs (immediate follow-up, addressing issues promptly).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple and diverse product lines, customer segments, and levels of internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong business management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing practices.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Understanding and application of the fundamentals of financial management to perform profit and loss analyses to plan strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, understand, and evaluate information from various sources.
  • Ability to utilize various analytical tools to gather, understand, and evaluate information (Excel, etc.).
  • Well-developed project management/organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proactive, results-oriented willingness to drive changes across the organization while working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • High degree of self-direction with the ability to constantly seek innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Fully bilingual (English & Spanish).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing strategic customer relationships across HCPs, SPPs, and accounts’ organizations, including Pharmacy/Procurement, clinical teams, PBMs/Plans, and other critical stakeholders.
  • Ensuring HCPs, SPPs, PBMs/Plans, and accounts have a positive experience when dealing with Pfizer.
  • Effectively navigating complex organizations to grow HCP contacts within the territory, gain influence among key decision-makers, and establish/leverage relationships to expand access to product offerings.
  • Effectively articulating value proposition statements conveying economic, clinical, and other key differentiators, and quickly assessing the success of messaging, revising strategy & tactics if/when required.
  • Developing and executing strategies that achieve growth targets aligned with business unit objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Understanding assigned HCPs, SPPs, and accounts’ business models to find mutually beneficial economic solutions that increase Pfizer's value proposition.
  • Developing and adapting focused and customized strategies for each assigned HCPs, SPPs, and customers (and their members for GPOs), ensuring alignment of PBMs/plans with Pfizer business objectives and strategic initiatives, and adapting strategies based on market conditions.
  • Conducting monthly (or as needed) business reviews with assigned accounts.
  • Effectively utilizing and deploying resources (people, systems, information, and products) to accomplish sales goals and support key customer objectives and business strategy.
  • Providing strong leadership to internal stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment for all members within a matrix to effectively serve customers and resolve concerns/issues.
  • Managing HCPs, SPPs, PBMs, Plans, and customer contracts by liaising with customers and internal contracting teams.
  • Analyzing current contracts and identifying opportunities to drive contract compliance, product portfolio expansion, and gain support for inclusion of products in the next contracting cycle.
  • Collaborating closely with BU Lead, Customers facing teams, Contracting, and Trade to develop strategies and value-add programs that help maintain and grow the business as well as improve contract compliance.
  • Performing special projects and assignments as directed by the Supervisor.
