About The Position

This is a seasonal position working Early November – December 24, 2026. The Kettle Driver is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle to various locations to pick up and deliver gifts, stockings, and kettle workers. This role involves loading and unloading donations, ensuring the safety and security of the vehicle and its contents, and assisting with tasks at the Christmas warehouse as needed. The position requires adherence to Salvation Army driving standards and state regulations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Two years’ driving experience
• Ability to become and remain certified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read and communicate the English language.
• Ability to operate commercial equipment.
• Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25 – 50 lbs.) and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs.) materials and donations.
• Valid State Driver’s License required, with ability to meet Salvation Army driving requirements for insurance purposes and remain qualified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle throughout the course of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

• Drives Salvation Army vehicle to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse.
• Responsible for driving to and from homes, agencies, and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc.
• Loads and unloads gifts from the vehicle to the warehouse.
• Operates the vehicle in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations.
• Ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.
• Drives kettle workers to and from kettle locations.
• Assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse/center as requested.
