This person is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse. They will be responsible for loading and unloading gifts from the vehicle to the warehouse. The role operates the vehicle in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations. This includes lifting, carrying, loading and unloading Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc., and ensuring the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times. The Kettle Driver will also drive kettle workers to and from kettle locations and assist in performing work at the Christmas warehouse and center as requested. Essential Functions include driving the Salvation Army vehicle to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse, organizing scheduling pick-ups by most direct route to arrive at destinations according to schedule. The role also involves interacting with donors and stores professionally to represent the mission of The Salvation Army. Additionally, the Kettle Driver will deliver bell-ringers and/or kettles to locations daily, pick up the same at the end of the day, and return to kettle locations as necessary/directed throughout the day to pick up full and/or drop off empty kettles. Maintaining the cleanliness of the Salvation Army vehicle, both inside and outside, is also a key responsibility.
