About The Position

Ranch Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our growing team in Bradenton, Florida. Whether your background is in kennel care, boarding, animal care, dog daycare, veterinary assisting, or pet care, we want to meet you. At Ranch Animal Hospital, our Kennel Technicians are an important part of the veterinary team. You’ll help care for hospitalized and boarding pets, maintain a clean and welcoming hospital, and support the doctors, veterinary technicians, and client service team throughout the day. You won't just care for pets here. You'll become part of a team that cares about them, and each other.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in animal care, boarding, kennel operations, veterinary medicine, or a related field preferred
  • Comfort handling dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • The ability to work efficiently in a busy veterinary environment
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • A genuine passion for caring for animals
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working around animal dander, cleaning products, veterinary chemicals, and varying noise levels
  • Ability to safely handle and restrain animals when necessary

  • Veterinary experience is helpful, but we're equally interested in people who bring the right attitude, work ethic, and desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Feed, walk, exercise, and monitor boarding and hospitalized pets
  • Provide compassionate daily care for dogs and cats
  • Administer medications as directed by the veterinary team
  • Monitor patient behavior, appetite, comfort, and overall condition
  • Communicate concerns promptly to the veterinary team
  • Provide gentle, patient-focused handling throughout each pet's stay
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment
  • Assist with laundry, stocking, and daily hospital tasks
  • Help maintain a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients and their families
  • Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and animal handling
  • Assist with patient restraint when appropriate
  • Work closely with the client service team and other hospital departments
  • Help keep patient care and daily hospital operations running smoothly
  • Step in where needed and contribute to a positive team environment
