Provide daily care for dogs, cats, and other hospitalized or boarding animals, including feeding, watering, walking, exercising, and cleaning. Maintain clean, sanitary, and odor-free kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and other animal-care spaces. Follow feeding instructions, medication schedules, and special care instructions as directed by veterinary staff. Observe animals for changes in behavior, appetite, elimination, activity level, or other signs of illness or distress and promptly report concerns to the veterinary team. Safely handle and restrain animals using appropriate techniques and equipment. Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with patient care and routine hospital tasks. Clean and disinfect equipment, bedding, bowls, litter boxes, and animal-care areas according to hospital protocols. Properly document feeding, cleaning, walking, and other patient-care activities as required. Maintain appropriate inventory of food, bedding, cleaning supplies, and other kennel supplies. Assist with admitting and discharging boarding or hospitalized patients as needed. Safely transport animals throughout the hospital and to designated outdoor areas. Maintain a safe environment for patients, clients, and team members. Follow all hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection-control protocols. Provide compassionate and respectful care to animals and communicate professionally with clients and coworkers. Perform other duties as assigned by the practice manager, veterinarian, or veterinary technician.
