About The Position
Penny Paws Animal Hospital - Fort Worth is hiring a Kennel Technician. This role is essential to the daily care and well-being of pets in a busy veterinary setting. As a Veterinary Kennel Technician, you’ll support both patients and the medical team while gaining valuable experience in animal care. This is a hands-on role that makes a real impact on patient care, with cross-training opportunities for a Veterinary Assistant position. The environment is fast-paced, and every day is different. Requirements
- Genuine passion for animal care and well-being
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfort in a physically active role (lifting, standing, bending)
- Reliability and flexibility with scheduling
- High school diploma or equivalent (or in progress)
- Previous kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal housing areas
- Provide food, water, and basic daily care for animals
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the veterinary team
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and occasional medication administration
- Safely transport animals throughout the hospital
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, exam rooms, and treatment spaces
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory management
- Perform laundry and general facility upkeep
