About The Position
Join our team and make a meaningful impact every day! As a Kennel Attendant, you’ll help provide a safe, clean, and caring environment for animals while giving them the attention and daily care they need. If you’re dependable, compassionate, and enjoy working hands-on with animals, we’d love to have you on our team. Under supervision, maintains sanitary conditions of the animal shelter, provides care for animals, and assists Animal Services Officers. May provide direction to temporary staff or volunteers.
Requirements
- A minimum of six months of work experience involving animal care, custodial duties, or customer service
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid Euthanema Certificate within 9 months of hire date
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 lbs
- Ability to travel to different sites and locations
Nice To Haves
- Experience working directly with animals is preferred
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains animal kennels and surrounding areas including floors and hallways
- Maintains inventory and notifies supervisor of any supplies that are required
- Assists Animal Health Technician, Veterinarian, and Animals Control Officers with vaccinations of animals and kennel placement
- Feeds, waters and provides enrichment to animals
- Inspects animals for sign of sickness and disease
- Maintains effective and positive relations with the public and other agencies
- Provides direction to volunteers or temporary staff
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned
