Kennel Assistant / Animal Care Attendant
About The Position

At Nob Hill Animal Clinic, our Kennel Assistants and Animal Care Attendants provide the vital foundation for our entire hospital. You are the defender of clinic cleanliness and the ultimate provider of comfort for the pets staying in our care. This is an entry-level position where you will gain invaluable, hands-on exposure to hospital operations, medical equipment, and patient safety protocols. Requirements
- None required! Previous experience in a kennel, shelter, doggie daycare, or stable environment is a plus, but we will fully train you.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, bend, kneel, and safely handle dogs of all sizes.
- Reliability is key. We need someone detail-oriented, proactive, and genuinely passionate about animal welfare.
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays (because pets need care every day!).
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a major plus!
Responsibilities
- Keep our facility spotless, smelling fresh, and ensuring our boarded and hospitalized patients get first-class hospitality.
- Follow specific dietary instructions to feed patients, provide fresh water, and safely walk dogs in our designated outdoor areas.
- Monitor pet behavior, comfort anxious animals, and give them the extra love and attention they need during their stay.
- Perform routine baths, nail trims, and coat brush-outs as needed.
- Deep-clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, runs, cages, and common clinic spaces to strict medical-grade standards (keeping odors at zero!).
- Manage the never-ending mountain of clinic laundry and dishes, ensuring the medical team always has clean towels, blankets, and surgical gowns.
- Keep clinic drawers, treatment areas, and lobbies fully stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist Technicians and Doctors with basic, low-stress animal restraint or handling when extra hands are needed.
