About The Position

Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We deliver secure, high-quality language access in more than 80 spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Kazakh Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Kazakh, a Turkic language spoken primarily in Kazakhstan and among Central Asian diaspora communities, is a rare but strategic language often needed in asylum and immigration cases.

Requirements

Native or near-native fluency in Kazakh and English.
2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, or government preferred).
Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
Excellent communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.

Certifications (court, community, ATA, or medical interpreting credentials preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Kazakh ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
Deliver interpretation with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter standards and confidentiality rules.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
