About The Position
Genesis10 is seeking a Kafka Automation Engineer for a hybrid role with a Global Financial Institution. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity focused on developing and managing infrastructure automation for Confluent Kafka in both internal and external cloud environments. The role requires significant experience with Terraform, Python, and Ansible for automation program development and maintenance. Collaboration with business and technology teams is essential for requirement gathering, solution design, and ensuring secure implementations.
Requirements
- 10 years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible.
- Strong hands-on experience with Develop & Test Automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible.
- Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible Playbook, and Ansible Tower.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX Shell Scripting.
- Basic knowledge of Ping Access and Certificate Management.
- Experience with Public and Private Cloud environments.
- Hybrid schedule requirement of a minimum of 3 days per week.
Nice To Haves
- Experience managing large-scale deployments for an enterprise.
- Advanced Python/Ansible skills.
- Experience with monitoring software like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
- Knowledge of messaging software (MQ/IIB, Kafka, Tibco, etc.).
- Experience with Java/J2EE.
Responsibilities
- Understand and update existing automation programs.
- Develop new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka.
- Capture business requirements from LOBs and design solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
- Work closely with Application Development/Support teams to understand the usage of messaging protocols within application software.
- Document business requirements and develop plans to address problems/requirements.
- Develop testing automation and troubleshoot problems during testing.
- Analyze IT security standards and policies for multiple projects of high complexity.
- Identify potential threats and risks and make recommendations to prevent these issues.
