About The Position
Emerson Academy of Dayton is seeking a passionate K-8 Teacher for the 2026-27 school year through the Ready to Place Teacher (RPT) program. This program allows talented teachers to be hired proactively before classroom openings become available. As an RPT, you will be assigned a specific classroom and collaborate with school leadership and fellow teachers to prepare for the upcoming school year. The role involves assuming responsibility for a classroom once a vacancy arises, creating an engaging and conducive learning environment, utilizing a proven curriculum, analyzing student data to inform teaching, and collaborating professionally with colleagues to meet student goals and needs.
Requirements
- Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements. NHA will support you through your alternative certification journey.
Responsibilities
- Prepare to assume responsibility of a classroom teacher when a vacancy becomes available
- Create a classroom environment that is engaging and conducive to learning.
- Leverage a curriculum proven to drive the academic success of students. A set of curricular resources are there for you to take and implement in your classroom based on the needs of students.
- Analyze and use student data to inform your teaching.
- Participate collaboratively and professionally with fellow teachers and support staff to meet the goals and individual needs of each student.
