About The Position

Alcona Elementary is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible K–5 Specials/Elective Teacher to provide engaging learning experiences for elementary students. The specific focus of the position may vary based on the needs of the school and the candidate’s skills, interests, and experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working with elementary-aged students, is creative and adaptable, and can create a positive and engaging classroom environment.

Requirements

Strong communication, organization, flexibility, and classroom management skills.

Nice To Haves

A current teaching certificate is preferred.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
Candidates with a variety of educational, creative, or instructional backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, age-appropriate instruction for students in grades K–5.
Develop and implement lessons and activities that support student learning and creativity.
Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
Establish clear expectations and maintain appropriate classroom management.
Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff to support student learning.
Adapt lessons and activities to meet the needs of individual students.
Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development as needed.
Support the overall mission and goals of the school.
