About The Position

Logicalis is seeking an experienced K–12 Systems & Network Administrator to support a multi-campus private high school association serving approximately 1,100 students and 125 staff members across three locations in Southeast Michigan. This role combines hands-on IT leadership with the backing of a global technology services organization. You will serve as the primary on-site IT lead, responsible for day-to-day operations, while leveraging Logicalis engineering resources and services for advanced initiatives, architecture, and major projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and impact—without being solely responsible for complex enterprise-level decisions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in technology or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of IT experience in a systems administration, network engineering, or IT management role
  • Strong experience with: Microsoft Active Directory and M365 administration
  • Networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, wireless)
  • Firewall management
  • Experience supporting end users in a dynamic environment (education or similar preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Experience designing and delivering integrated technology solutions.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience working with IT, facilities, and security stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in K‑12 or education environments
  • Familiarity with Aruba, Aerohive, or Extreme networks
  • Experience with E‑Rate or education-focused procurement
  • Experience with Veeam, Hyper-V, and endpoint management
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Observium) and asset management systems
  • Experience supporting student devices at scale

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary IT contact for administration, faculty, and staff
  • Define and enforce IT standards, policies, and procedures across campuses
  • Provide hands-on support for end-users and day-to-day IT operations
  • Manage core Microsoft technologies: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NPS
  • Administer Microsoft 365 environment: O365, Azure AD, A3 licensing, Intune
  • Maintain a small Hyper-V virtualization environment
  • Manage backup and recovery processes (Veeam preferred)
  • Manage network infrastructure: Aruba switches Aerohive / Extreme wireless access points
  • Administer WatchGuard firewalls
  • Maintain web filtering for K‑12 compliance and student safety
  • Monitor network performance and reliability
  • Manage and support phone systems (Centaris or similar), including potential upgrades
  • Oversee surveillance cameras, door access, PA systems, and classroom A/V
  • Manage and support Surface Pro deployments for staff and students
  • Deploy and maintain printers and general endpoint devices
  • Support classroom technologies (e.g., Promethean boards)
  • Support and maintain school-related platforms (PowerSchool preferred)
  • Manage asset tracking and monitoring tools (e.g., Lansweeper, Nagios, Observium – preferred)
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance
  • Assist with planning and executing system improvements and modernization initiatives
  • Understand and support E‑Rate program participation and K‑12 procurement processes
  • Attend industry conferences and stay current on K‑12 technology trends
  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.
