About The Position

BBA Afterschool Inc. is hiring a patient, enthusiastic, and dependable K–1 Reading & Math Tutor to provide engaging academic support for young students in Silver Spring, MD. This position focuses on helping Kindergarten and 1st-grade students strengthen their foundational reading and math skills through fun, age-appropriate activities and individualized support. This is a part-time, after-school position with afternoon hours, consisting of 1.5-hour sessions. No lesson planning is required as the curriculum and materials are provided. The role is an in-person position located in Silver Spring.

Requirements

• Comfortable working with Kindergarten and 1st-grade students
• Patient, encouraging, and dependable
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to the program location
• Must successfully complete the required background check process

Nice To Haves

• Experience tutoring or working with young children preferred
• Background in education, tutoring, reading, math, or child development is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging reading and math instruction to K–1 students
• Teach foundational concepts using age-appropriate activities
