About The Position
The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner with them in achieving their goals of ensuring all students graduate high school with the skills needed to be ready for college and career. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12, with a coaching staff that consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with student athletes. The modified program (grades 7-8) emphasizes skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and hard work, rather than winning. The high school level (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams) stresses the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, with a higher refinement of skill and a focus on competition.
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check
