About The Position

Montrose School, an independent school for girls in grades 6-12, is seeking a part-time JV Head Volleyball Coach for the season running from August 24 to October 31, 2026. The coach will be responsible for organizing and supervising practices and games, managing uniforms and equipment, assessing player skills, and providing guidance for improvement. A key aspect of the role is to instill values such as respect, team spirit, passion, teamwork, and dedication, while also improving athletes' skills, confidence, and commitment. The coach is expected to work collaboratively with the Assistant Coach, Varsity Coaches, and Athletic Director to foster a unified Volleyball Program, ensuring all activities align with the school's philosophy and mission.

Requirements

• Prior playing and coaching experience.
• An understanding of the rules and regulations of the game.
• Knowledge of effective skills and strategies that contribute to team growth and success.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• CPR Certification (may complete upon hiring).
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and supervising games and practices for the JV team.
• Managing uniforms and equipment.
• Assessing player skills and monitoring players during competition and practice.
• Providing guidance to players to improve their skills.
• Instilling values of respect, team spirit, passion, teamwork, and dedication.
• Improving skills, confidence, and commitment in all athletes.
• Working in coordination with the Assistant Coach, Varsity Coaches, and Athletic Director to create a unified Volleyball Program.
• Ensuring all activities and behaviors meet appropriate professional standards and adhere to the philosophy and mission of Montrose School.
