About The Position

The LSJ Athletic Department is accepting applications for a JV Boys Basketball Coaching Position for the upcoming season. The Coach will work as part of the JV Boys Basketball program to provide student-athletes with a positive, organized, and developmentally appropriate experience that reflects the values and expectations of LSJ.

Requirements

Must be a permanent employee of the school.
Knowledge of basketball rules and fundamentals.
Ability to effectively work with and supervise high school student-athletes.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to attend required team activities.
Commitment to LSJ's academic, behavioral, and athletic expectations.

Nice To Haves

Previous basketball coaching or playing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and conducting team practices.
Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, scrimmages, and postseason contests.
Teach basketball fundamentals, team concepts, sportsmanship, and appropriate competitive behavior.
Communicate with student-athletes, coaching staff, and the Athletic Director.
Support team needs related to schedules, transportation, uniforms, equipment, and eligibility.
Reinforce student-athlete academic and behavioral expectations.
Assist with rosters, attendance, and required athletic documentation.
Follow all LSJ Athletic Department, school, and league policies and procedures.
Attend required coaches' meetings and athletic department events.
Perform other reasonable coaching-related responsibilities necessary for successful operation of the team.
