HEAD JV/ASSISTANT BASEBALL COACH
About The Position
The JV Head Baseball Coach/Varsity Assistant coach will work closely with the Head Baseball Coach to support the overall development and success of the baseball program. Specific duties include serving as the Head Coach for the JV Baseball team, including planning practices, managing games, and supervising student-athletes. The role also involves assisting the Varsity Head Coach with daily practices, game preparation, skill development, and overall program operations. The coach will teach and reinforce proper baseball fundamentals, techniques, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character, and help develop athletes for successful transition from the JV to varsity level. Maintaining consistent communication with the Varsity Head Coach regarding player development, team needs, and program expectations is crucial. Additional responsibilities include assisting with equipment management, field preparation, transportation, and ensuring student-athletes adhere to all school, district, conference, and IHSAA rules and expectations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of baseball fundamentals and techniques.
- Ability to teach and reinforce sportsmanship, teamwork, and character.
- Understanding of school, district, conference, and IHSAA rules.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in coaching baseball at the junior varsity or varsity level.
- Ability to develop athletes for transition between levels.
