About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a part-time Juvenile Supervision Officer at Texas Monarch Academy for Girls (TMAG) in Denison, Texas. TMAG is a secure post-adjudication facility in North Texas serving young women ages 10–17 with a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender-responsive model. Its services include education, skill development, individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, group, individual, and family therapy, on-site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities. Juvenile Supervision Officers provide around-the-clock, in-person supervision of youth at the secure residential facility. They support each youth’s physical, personal, and health needs through individual counseling and skill development, help maintain a supportive environment, monitor and document behavior and activities, assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and collaborate with professional staff on treatment-plan goals. The role is part-time and capped at 29 hours per week; availability is discussed during the interview.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years of age.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
Ability to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

Provide around-the-clock, in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
Provide for each youth’s physical, personal, and health needs through individual counseling and skill development.
Create and maintain an atmosphere supportive of youths’ needs.
Monitor and document youths’ behaviors and activities.
Participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
Collaborate with professional staff to establish and meet each youth’s treatment-plan goals.
