About The Position

As a Juvenile Justice Specialist Supervisor, DHS with the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services, you will help residents build the skills they need for success. This role allows you to influence change through leadership, structure, and support. You will work with a dedicated team that promotes responsibility, safety, and positive development. This position supports the rehabilitation and social development of adjudicated youth through supervision, counseling, and structured guidance. The role promotes safety, growth, and responsible behavior in all daily activities.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Juvenile Justice Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • OR Three years of experience in the care, custody, activities, or personal guidance of adolescents or adults in a human services or social services program, law enforcement or correctional program, or an educational, community, or military organization
  • OR One year of experience in the care, custody, activities, or personal guidance of adolescents or adults in a human services or social services program, law enforcement or correctional program, or an educational, community, or military organization; and an associate’s degree in social sciences, counseling, restorative justice, juvenile justice, child development, behavioral sciences, human services, criminal justice, education, or a closely related field
  • OR An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • You must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
  • You must be willing to accept employment at North Central Secure Treatment Unit and commute to this location in Danville PA, Montour County.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant supervision to ensure a safe environment and prevent harmful behaviors
  • Escort and monitor residents during activities, appointments, and visits on and off grounds
  • Provide instruction that supports pro-social behavior, daily competencies, and responsible decision-making
  • Develop and update treatment plans through assessment, counseling, communication, and coordination with families and agencies
  • Prepare reports, record progress, and maintain required paperwork and data submissions
  • Work with the treatment team, participate in meetings, and support programs that enhance resident development
