About The Position

NFI Massachusetts Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is currently seeking a Juvenile Justice Community Worker for our DYS Community Services Network programs based in Lawrence, MA. NFI’s community-based services assist in reintegrating court-involved youth into their communities after they have been committed to the Department of Youth Services (DYS). The DYS Community Services Network program works to ensure youth have access to adequate necessities, such as clothing, housing, and food. It also assists youth in addressing medical and behavioral health needs, as well as educational and vocational needs, which includes Pre-HiSET, HiSET (GED) and individual tutoring. In addition, youth and their families are introduced to services such as behavioral therapy, job programs, healthy social outlets and community service opportunities. Through these combined efforts of rehabilitation and community integration, the program’s objective is to make a lasting impact on the lives of the youth we serve, effecting positive change for the youth, their families, and their communities.

Requirements

A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth in a direct care role is required.
A valid driver’s license and a reliable and insured vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the DYS Casework team to support youth with successful reunification.
Provide consistent supervision of youth on-site and in the community.
Establish and maintain relationships with local community-based organizations and providers to meet the individualized treatment needs of each youth.
Perform duties including, but not limited to: home visits, transportation to appointments, and the planning and execution of recreational activities.
