About The Position

As a Juvenile Justice Clinical Supervisor, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to an assigned caseload of youth in the PATH Program, and oversee two Juvenile Justice staff. You will contribute to a program dedicated to providing quality mental health services to justice impacted youth, whose mental health needs are often unmet due to complex barriers preventing access to traditional mental health services. We provide services in the office, home, and community. You will report to the Juvenile Justice Assistant Director and will work onsite with some travel in the community required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling or equivalent from a graduate school program required.
  • Two years experience in the mental health, child-welfare or juvenile justice system required.
  • A valid NYS driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or pursuing such licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of up to 15 youth, meeting bi-weekly to provide therapeutic clinical services.
  • Assess and diagnose assigned youth, including use of assessment tools.
  • Identify and discuss the mental health risk factors, strengths, and service needs which influence the youth's functioning at home, at school, and in the community.
  • Develop mutually agreed upon treatment goals with the youth and family, and methods to achieve the goals.
  • Provide therapeutic services to assigned youth using differential treatment modalities.
  • Oversee two Service Navigator staff in the Juvenile Justice division, providing weekly management, training, and support for each member of staff to carry a caseload of six youth.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and County personnel.
  • Coordinate with colleagues regarding advocacy, case management, and referral services.
  • Maintain case records and complete all paperwork: diagnosis and assessments, progress notes, service plans, and correspondence, discharge summaries.
  • Following program contract, agency policy, COA and state mandates.
