Supervises juveniles and provides security within the County’s detention facilities. This role involves maintaining group control during various activities, preventing escapes and aggressive behavior, conducting regular checks on residents, processing new juveniles, and observing residents to analyze and address their needs. The officer will also assist residents in developing positive attitudes through counseling and discussion, manage crisis situations calmly, administer disciplinary actions fairly, and report unusual behavior to superiors. Responsibilities include maintaining resident records, participating in shift meetings, performing room and frisk/strip searches, logging visitors and calls, providing information to parents, analyzing facility procedures, organizing activities, and ensuring the facility is clean and well-maintained. Housekeeping duties, meal transport, and other assigned tasks are also part of the role.
