As a Detention Counselor, you will work alongside the juvenile justice system, including courts, police, and service providers, to maintain a safe, secure environment for youth. Requirements

A minimum of 60 college credits required.
Ability to pass a company-paid physical and obtain required clearances.
Successfully complete and maintain certification in Adelphoi’s crisis intervention / restraint training and pass any required physical abilities assessment.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience in juvenile justice, congregate care, or youth-focused roles.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe, secure environment for youth in temporary care.
Work alongside the juvenile justice system, including courts, police, and service providers.
Help adolescents navigate challenges and find a path forward.
Safely perform physical interventions and restraints with individuals who may weigh 200+ pounds, using approved techniques.
Stand, walk, and respond quickly throughout the shift.
Successfully complete and maintain certification in Adelphoi’s crisis intervention / restraint training and pass any required physical abilities assessment.
