As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Full Time in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government juvenile services location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service and communication. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while supporting a secure environment for staff, visitors, and youth. This driving position requires a valid driver's license. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and other authorized individuals while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue and collect visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Control access to restricted areas in accordance with established government facility procedures and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting emergency services or facility representatives as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
