As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Access Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government juvenile services location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position calls for professional communication and customer service while supporting a welcoming, controlled environment. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals at a government juvenile services location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization, maintain visitor sign-in records, issue and retrieve credentials as directed, and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; promptly report observations through required channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized activity or security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and access-control logs in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
