As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entry Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Security Professional with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor entry points, verify access, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps deter incidents. You will support a welcoming, professional environment through strong communication and customer service while upholding integrity and teamwork. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals to appropriate locations within the government facility.
  • Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while promptly communicating observations to site leadership and emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, parking areas, building perimeters, and other designated areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of access activity, incidents, unusual conditions, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
