About The Position

The Junior Web Software Developer supports the development, maintenance, enhancement, and deployment of enterprise web applications in a Microsoft Azure environment. Working under senior developers and technical leads, this role contributes to application development, troubleshooting, testing, and modernization in an Agile and DevSecOps environment. The developer also supports application deployments, production support, integrations, and technical documentation.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in web application development, software engineering, or related technical work.
Foundational programming knowledge and experience coding in Java through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience.
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and basic database concepts.
Understanding of application development, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to learn new technologies and work collaboratively under the guidance of senior developers.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise web applications using Java, Java EE, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
Support the migration and modernization of existing web applications from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
Support website design and development, including site concepts, user interfaces, navigation, and application functionality.
Develop and maintain application components using Java, Spring Framework, REST APIs, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Assist with interfaces and integrations between web applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
Support database development and maintenance, including SQL queries, data retrieval, and troubleshooting with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Assist with implementing and maintaining cloud-based applications using Azure services, including Azure App Service and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
Develop, test, debug, and document application features, enhancements, and defect fixes under senior developers’ guidance.
Support application deployments and CI/CD processes using Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS/OpenShift), as applicable.
Assist with application troubleshooting, performance monitoring, security vulnerability remediation, routine maintenance, and production support.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to coding standards and secure software development practices.
Collaborate with developers, testers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to support application integrations and resolve technical issues.
Support Agile activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and progress reporting.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including application changes, deployment procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system support materials.
