About The Position

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. This is a junior volunteer position for ages 14-17 years old. Junior volunteers are valued members of the hospital volunteer program who provide support in non-clinical areas only. Due to safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements, junior volunteers do not work in patient care units or clinical settings. Instead, they contribute by assisting staff and enhancing the experience for visitors in public areas of the hospital.

Requirements

  • A minimum six‑month consecutive commitment.
  • 3–4 hours weekly.
  • Consistent attendance.
  • 14-17 years of age.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing).
  • Adequate hearing and vision.
  • Sensitive to patient and family situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting staff in non-clinical areas.
  • Enhancing the experience for visitors in public areas of the hospital.
