The Opportunity TalkingPoints is looking for a junior-level Product Designer to deliver excellent product designs for TalkingPoints applications, support with user research and collaborate with the Solutions Incubator team to generate rapid designs for new concept testing. This role will report to the Lead Product Designer and will work closely with our product pods to develop new features and experiences that help support improved attendance, family engagement, and student outcomes. This is an ideal opportunity for a passionate and mission-driven designer who is eager to make a tangible impact in the education sector. In this role, you will: Deliver high quality feature designs at a fast pace, collaborating with product and engineering to execute on the product roadmap Translate feature requirements into UX designs, creating elegant and simple solutions to complex challenges Collaborate with other designers to deliver a holistic UX for all TalkingPoints applications Conduct user research to inform product design

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience (internships count) designing digital products, with a portfolio to show
  • Comfortable designing UX for both mobile and web
  • Interviewing customers and conducting user research, such as usability testing and concept testing
  • Proficient in Figma for wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
  • Has experience with AI design tooling (e.g., Claude, Figma AI) and eager to use it to work faster
  • Familiar with using design systems and components for consistency
  • A clear communicator who enjoys identifying and solving problems
  • A collaborative, action-oriented self-starter with curiosity for technology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with U.S.-based K-12 education systems
  • Experience in or empathy with communities we serve (e.g., underserved populations, education, immigration, bilingual and/or multicultural environments)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality feature designs at a fast pace, collaborating with product and engineering to execute on the product roadmap
  • Translate feature requirements into UX designs, creating elegant and simple solutions to complex challenges
  • Collaborate with other designers to deliver a holistic UX for all TalkingPoints applications
  • Conduct user research to inform product design
  • Assist with end-to-end user research — from writing discussion guides to moderating interviews and turning insights into actionable design recommendations
  • Help coordinate research logistics (recruiting, scheduling, incentive management) to keep studies running smoothly
