We invite a Junior Test Automation Engineer to join our collaborative team. In this role, you’ll create and run automated tests, review test results, and help identify issues in complex cloud-based systems. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with performance testing by executing test scripts and collecting and monitoring key performance metrics.
Requirements
- Up to 1.5 years of experience in software testing or test automation
- Understanding of software testing principles and QA practices
- Basic programming or scripting skills in Python or Scala
- Basic understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, headers, payloads, and API status codes
- Ability to execute tests, review results, and identify issues or unexpected behavior
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Upper-Intermediate English level
Nice To Haves
- Basic understanding of performance testing concepts (Load, Stress, Spike, and Soak/Endurance testing)
- Basic understanding of performance metrics, including latency, response time, throughput, and error rates
- Hands-on familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or Gatling
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform
- Basic experience with AWS CloudWatch
- Basic Linux command-line experience
- Familiarity with Git
- Relevant certifications/courses, such as ISTQB CTFL, AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials, or JMeter/Locust training
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and run automated tests
- Help investigate test failures and fix issues with automated tests
- Execute pre-scripted performance tests, including Load, Stress, Spike, and Soak/Endurance tests
- Record key performance metrics (latency, response times, throughput, error rates, and HTTP response codes)
- Monitor basic performance metrics using AWS CloudWatch
- Review test results and identify anomalies and basic performance failures
- Report anomalies and basic performance failures to intermediate and senior team members
