About The Position

The Test Event Junior System Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will administer the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations. They will administer WSUS and SCCM servers for updating and patching of the domain, and perform hardening and remediation of operating systems and STIG compliance to reduce cybersecurity risks. The role involves deployment and configuration of vCenter, Power Shell, and Ansible with assistance from senior staff, and maintaining and managing Secure Host Baselines for both Windows and LINUX. Responsibilities include conducting daily system monitoring, system backup and restoration, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations. The candidate will also develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation, and be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Additionally, they will assist with creating, upgrading, managing and sustaining physical and virtual workstations and servers. The successful candidate will be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult service problems and provide resolution, create and follow standard processes and clearly document results, and effectively function as a self-starter identifying risks, issues, and opportunities. Excellent presentation, oral and written skills are required for effective interchanges with senior admins, management, and customers. A "can-do" attitude, ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and embrace change are essential.

Requirements

1, or more, years of directly related experience
Experience managing a Linux workstation-based environment.
Experience with WSUS
Experience with SCCM, developing and executing powershell scripts
Experience managing Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (CCNA-Security CySA+ (formerly CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP)
An active DoD Secret Security Clearance
