About The Position

EXP is hiring a Junior Structural Engineer for building projects as part of its Building Structures team. The position may be based in Orlando, Tampa, Miami, or Fort Lauderdale. The team works on projects across the United States and several U.S. territories, and the role may also support teams outside the United States. The engineer will collaborate with in-house professionals and subconsultants across disciplines and locations, while working with experienced team members for mentoring and career development. Projects may span mission critical buildings, aviation, light passenger rail facilities, and commercial building design. The engineer generally takes direction from senior engineers and project leads, with autonomy appropriate to experience. Work includes vertical structural design using wood, steel, concrete, masonry, and light-gauge framing; calculations, sketches, drawing production, specifications, and multidisciplinary coordination; and observing and evaluating existing conditions in the field or through historical drawings. The role involves working on multiple concurrent projects and coordinating with other EXP offices and outside consultants. Occasional short-term travel to project sites is expected, typically for one or two nights. Flexible hours and hybrid office attendance are available.
