About The Position

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Staff Accountant to join our growing team. Based at our headquarters in Asbury Park, NJ, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to build your career with a leading company in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of financial principles and a proactive mindset. In this role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, audit preparation, and ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with exposure to real estate or solar energy project fund accounting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively collaborate with other business functions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with Microsoft BusinessCentral or Dynamics 365 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and enter month end and other required journal entries.
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Review and reconcile monthly transactions and balances and prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc financial analyses and reports.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and compliance with internal policies.
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Solar Landscape’s accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Support external audit processes, including preparing work papers and reports.
  • Contribute on special projects as assigned.
