About The Position
This position provides an entry into the accounting field at Burkert. The Junior Staff Accountant supports efficient accounting and finance processes at Burkert USA Corporation and Burkert Canada Inc. The role works with limited daily supervision on routine tasks, identifies when guidance is needed, adapts to new assignments, and supports the VP of Finance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting or a related field, at least three years of accounting experience, or a suitable combination of formal education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to prioritize day-to-day work activities within work routines.
- Excellent organization, time-management, administrative, and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with team members.
- Attention to detail and a strong customer service focus.
- English language proficiency.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Power BI and Excel; helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of SAP; helpful but not required.
- German language skills; helpful but not required.
- French language skills; helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform data analysis.
- Assist Staff Accountants and Accounts Receivable with day-to-day activities.
- Assist Accounts Receivable with meaningful reports.
- Assist with master data maintenance.
- Assist with internal and external audits of the company’s accounts.
- Assist with annual budget preparation.
- Evaluate current processes for efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Participate in accounting-specific projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
