About The Position

Pizzeria Libretto is the original Neapolitan pizzeria in the city. We are currently looking for a Jr. Sous Chef to join our team and bring their skills, passion, and expertise to the kitchen while continuing to grow and advance their culinary career.

Requirements

At least two years of kitchen experience in a high volume, fast paced environment.
Previous Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef experience in a similar environment
Passion for food & culinary excellence
High level of integrity
Discipline and vision
Ability to build and nurture relationships; strong team leadership and interpersonal skills
Drive and takes initiative
Exceptional communication skills with all levels of the organization
Is very hands on and motivates by setting the example
Available weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
Legally eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

Meet with the daytime manager daily to ensure a smooth and effective shift handover.
Ensure the staff meal is prepared and ready at the scheduled time.
Follow proper closing procedures, ensuring the main kitchen, dish pit, prep room, cheese room, and walk-in fridge are properly closed and all equipment is turned off at the end of the shift.
Set up food stations and ensure all other stations are prepared according to restaurant standards and guidelines.
Oversee the quality and presentation of dishes, as well as the timing and execution of service on the line, in the absence of the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine.
Monitor sanitation procedures and ensure all health and safety standards are consistently followed.
Communicate any staff concerns or performance issues to management in a timely manner.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
