KBR is seeking a motivated Software Engineer with C++ experience to support the Department of the Air Force advanced air platform testing and rapid development. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone with a strong interest in simulation or defense-related protocols (OMS, GRID, DIS, STANAG) looking for fast-paced, cutting-edge development work.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 1 to 3 years of programming and/or development skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience with CI/CD systems, integration, and security (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience working with backend logic structures such as behavior or decision trees
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Vue for frontend development
  • Proven ability to fix bugs and implement small to medium features on both frontend and backend

  • Experience with Websocket-based real-time data pipelines
  • Basic understanding of aircraft dynamics, tactical reasoning, or similar technical domains

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Responsibilities

  • Work with C++ and other programming languages for advanced air platform testing and rapid development.
  • Support the Department of the Air Force in their advanced air platform testing and rapid development initiatives.
  • Engage in simulation or defense-related protocols (OMS, GRID, DIS, STANAG).
  • Fix bugs and implement small to medium features on both frontend and backend.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team in a supportive and intellectually stimulating workplace.
  • Contribute to designing and optimizing defense systems.
  • Utilize CI/CD systems for integration and security.
  • Work with containerization technologies.
  • Develop backend logic structures such as behavior or decision trees.
  • Perform frontend development using TypeScript and Vue.
  • Engage in full-stack debugging across C++, databases, APIs, and Vue components.
