About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer with C++ experience and background to be a part of the team that supports the Department of the Air Force advanced air platform testing and rapid development. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone with a strong interest in simulation or defense-related protocols (OMS, GRID, DIS, STANAG) looking for fast-paced, cutting-edge development work.

Requirements

Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
1 to 3 years of programming and/or development skills.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Experience with CI/CD systems, integration, and security (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience working with backend logic structures such as behavior or decision trees.
Proficiency in TypeScript and Vue for frontend development.
Proven ability to fix bugs and implement small to medium features on both frontend and backend.

Excellent interpersonal and intrateam communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience with Websocket-based real-time data pipelines.
Basic understanding of aircraft dynamics, tactical reasoning, or similar technical domains.
Strong full-stack debugging skills across C++, databases, APIs, and Vue components.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
