About The Position

The Rokt Residency is an 18-week, full-time, paid early-career program for software engineers, based in Rokt’s New York City office. This cohort runs from January 12, 2027, through May 18, 2027. Residents build and deploy production services and features on an engineering team, using AI tools and automation throughout software development. They may receive an offer to join Rokt as a Builder in a full-time role after completing the residency. Rokt is an AI-first ecommerce company whose machine-learning platform helps determine relevant next actions for customers across its network. Residents work with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to ship features, improve systems operating at scale, and make measurable contributions to their teams. The role calls for initiative, adaptability, and comfort working in fast-paced teams and with incomplete information. Residency compensation is approximately $50.48 per hour, plus a technology allowance for a MacBook Pro M5 and accessories, which the resident keeps after the program. A full-time offer after the residency would have stated total target compensation of $127,000, including a $120,000 fixed annual salary and an employee equity plan grant, along with benefits.

Requirements

Software engineering experience, including through internships, personal projects, open-source work, or hackathons.
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and writing clean, tested code.
Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, TypeScript, Java, or C#.
Evidence of having built and shipped something real, such as a project, product, or tool that other people use.
Hands-on experience using AI coding tools to build software.
Ability to work in fast-paced teams.
Continually look for ways to improve and accelerate a function.
Availability to work full-time in the New York office for the entire 18-week residency.

Responsibilities

Build and deploy production services and features on a Rokt engineering team, from prototype through release.
Use AI tools and automation to accelerate coding, testing, and deployment.
Identify performance bottlenecks and use data to improve systems operating at the scale of billions of transactions.
Work with product managers, designers, and senior Builders to ship features that drive revenue for Rokt and its partners.
Deliver a measurable contribution to the team by the end of the Residency.
