About The Position

The Junior Software Engineer will help develop, test, troubleshoot, and support software used in manufacturing environments. The work may involve measurement and inspection systems, machine vision, image processing, data collection, machine learning, and reporting applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career software engineer interested in gaining hands-on experience with manufacturing technology and automation systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Up to three years of software development experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Programming experience with one or more of the following: C#, Python, C++, Java, or MATLAB
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles
• Familiarity with the software development life cycle, testing, debugging, and quality assurance
• Experience with version-control tools such as Git, GitLab, Subversion, or Visual SourceSafe
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, React, Angular, or a similar front-end framework
• Familiarity with web services or microservices
• Experience working with relational databases or performing data analysis
• Exposure to sensors, cameras, motion systems, machine vision, image processing, or industrial control systems
• Previous academic, internship, or project experience involving manufacturing software or automation

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and support manufacturing software applications
• Assist with software used for measurement, inspection, machine vision, and image processing
• Support data collection, analysis, machine learning, and reporting systems
• Participate in software design, code reviews, testing, and quality-assurance activities
• Diagnose software issues and work with team members to implement solutions
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other technical teams
